Discover History In Wales

Not all people go on short break in Wales to enjoy the beach and theme parks. If you are one of those who want to visit historic places and enjoy the ambiance there, you would have plenty of reasons to pay a visit to some or all of the tourist attractions listed below.
St. Govan's Chapel
This is one of the hidden gems that not many people on Pembrokeshire holidays have experienced. One good thing about this chapel is that it is free to visit so if you are on a budget while on a short break in Wales, this is one place you should positively go to. Another reason why it is a good thing to search for this small chapel is the view since it is located near a picturesque beach.
Well preserved, the chapel should give you a place to reflect or meditate. Outside, you can wonder at the beauty of nature with a good chance of spotting seals on the beach below. Some tourists on Pembrokeshire holidays have commented that they were very lucky to have visited St. Govan's chapel since they not only get to spot seals basking in the sun, but having done so without paying for a boat trip.
Carew Castle
When you think of Wales, while are planning a short break in Wales maybe, images of old castles would most definitely cross your mind at one time or another. If you have set your mind into visiting a historic castle, you should go to the Carew Castle in Tenby. Tenby is a town in the Pembrokeshire County which means if you have planned your short vacation on having visiting Pembrokeshire holidays destination, you can easily go to this castle.
The ruins of the castle are considered by many to be one of the most romantic places to visit while on a short break in Wales and Pembroke holidays. A word of caution to people who believe in ghosts though; there are many stories about ghosts haunting the castle. If that is too spooky for you, fret not as it is relatively ghost-free during daytime.
Pembroke Castle
To people who love castle ruins, no Pembrokeshire holidays, or a short break in Wales would be complete without visiting the Pembroke castle, the "birthplace of the Tudor Dynasty". The guided tours are well thought-out so even if it not exactly free, you would get your money's worth. This would be a good place even for a family as there is so much beauty for every age group to appreciate.
